Adrian Burrows is a senior air crash investigator at the UK’s Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB), which is part of the Government’s Department for Transport. As a specialist in flight recorders he has been with the AAIB for 14 years during which time he has participated in over 300 investigations. Adrian started his aerospace career as an aerodynamicist at what was then the Airbus Division of British Aerospace at Filton before moving to Seattle to work as an aerodynamicist at Boeing. Returning to the UK he spent a couple of years as a military fast jet flight test engineer with DERA (now QinetiQ) at Boscombe Down before joining the AAIB. Adrian has a BSc in Mathematics, an MSc in Aerospace Design, Manufacture and Maintenance, and an MSc in Safety and Accident Investigation – Air Transport.
