Sean PatrickGeneral Manager En-route & NAC
Irish Aviation Authority
Currently responsible for the safe and efficient service delivery of en-route Air Traffic Services within the Shannon FIR, Oceanic Transition Areas and North Atlantic Communication, Sean has an extensive career in ATM systems and delivery. Prior to joining the IAA in 2003 Sean served as an Operations Manager for the Royal Air Force, responsible for the provision of air traffic control services in the UKs most complex and dynamic airspace at LATCC including the UKs Distress and Diversion Centre. In 2018, the IAA in conjunction with Aireon will offer a space-based air traffic surveillance system to track flights in emergency situations as a free, public service to the global aviation community. Known as Aircraft Locating and Emergency Response (ALERT), the system will allow rescue agencies around the globe to request the location and last flight track of any suitably equipped aircraft flying in airspace currently without surveillance. The Aireon ALERT service will be managed from the Irish Aviation Authority’s North Atlantic Communications Centre in Ballygirreen, Co Clare.
